THE BRIEF
PMG partnered with MEC Mining to create a space in contrast from their previous office. To integrate their corporate branding subtly. Due to the lack of natural light, creating the illusion of space was a must. More meeting rooms including several focus rooms to allow for their developing business and staff requirements – quiet work / zoom meetings. Also including a focus room that allows for prayer, breastfeeding, and quiet time.
THE RESULTS
By adding some clean line detailing to a simple glass partition, a barrier between the kitchen and workplace was created whilst still allowing light through. A soft palette with light exposed ceilings successfully create the illusion of space. The soft palette was inspired by the raw natural colours of an open mine to tie into the brand.
The flexible waiting space can be used for informal discussions with two accessible meeting rooms. Exposed ceilings, green paint, textural finishes and carpets create a welcoming space. The open workspace is light, bright and open and is contrasted with the concrete floor and feature lights representing the rawness of a mine. The beige feature carpet with curved lines connects with the road markings of the machinery driving through the mine.
