PMG x CoreNet: Better Workplaces Start With Better Conversations
- Tica Masuku
Some of the most influential work in any organisation happens quietly.
Workplace, tenant, and corporate real estate professionals make decisions that shape culture, performance, and the day-to-day experience of thousands of people. But inside most businesses, these roles sit within finance or broader operations, and there aren’t many people around who truly understand the specifics of the job. Just the reality of a niche function inside a bigger machine.
CoreNet exists for exactly that reason.
CoreNet Global Australia is a not-for-profit network for the corporate real estate and workplace sector. It brings professionals together to share what they’re seeing, what tenants are asking for, and what’s shifting in the market. The broader network spans nearly 10,000 executives across 50 countries. What makes the local chapter valuable is more straightforward than that: it’s a room full of peers who understand the job because they do it too.
Tica joined CoreNet the week she arrived
About ten years ago, Tica Masuku, Director of Workplace Strategy at PMG Group, moved to Australia and joined CoreNet almost immediately. She knew nobody in the industry here and needed a way in. It worked. She has attended well over 100 CoreNet events since, in Sydney, Melbourne, Berlin, Amsterdam, and Singapore. What has kept her coming back is that CoreNet takes its members seriously. Newcomers are brought into the fold. With one employee and around 40 volunteers running the whole operation, it is built by people who genuinely care about the profession and the people in it.
The ongoing value has been practical. Maintaining relationships over time rather than collecting contacts. Staying across trends through real conversation and CoreNet’s annual State of the Market reporting. Hearing what tenants are talking about directly from the people dealing with it day to day. That kind of unfiltered perspective is hard to get from inside a single organisation, no matter how strong your internal team is.
At PMG we’re not siloed from these conversations, corporate real estate and workplace is everything we do. CoreNet adds a wider set of perspectives and a more direct line to what the broader market is experiencing. PMG has operated for 30 years on long-standing relationships and a reputation as a trusted source of knowledge in the industry. When you look at what both organisations are built on, a deeper partnership was the natural next step.
CoreNet has welcomed PMG as the Workplace Strategic Partner for the CoreNet Global Australia Chapter.
The High Tea: Culture of Health
Our first event as Workplace Strategic Partner was a High Tea in March, exploring the Culture of Health and what it means to design workplaces where people genuinely thrive.
Tica moderated alongside Lisa James-Holmes, Associate Director of Global Workplace Strategy at MSD and CoreNet Global’s Corporate Real Estate Executive Leader of the Year 2025. Lisa brought global insights from Harvard Medical School’s Business Transformation through a Culture of Health program, with deep expertise across neuroinclusive design, indoor air quality, and health-focused workplace strategy.
The conversation examined how physical environments, organisational culture and daily behaviours converge to shape health, resilience and performance. For the workplace professionals in the room, it was a direct, evidence-based discussion about decisions they are making right now.
It was the kind of conversation CoreNet does well, and exactly the kind PMG wants to be part of.
Lisa and Tica have captured the key insights from the session in a whitepaper, Culture of Health: Building Workplaces Where People Truly Thrive. It covers the frameworks, research and practical considerations that workplace professionals need to translate a culture of health from intention into environment.
