Supporting The Spirit FC: Investing in the Leaders of Tomorrow
At PMG, we believe that great spaces are built by great people. But long before anyone steps into a boardroom or onto a construction site, the foundations of leadership, resilience, and teamwork are often laid on a football pitch, in a local community, amongst teammates who become lifelong friends.
That’s why we’re proud to announce our sponsorship of The Spirit FC, a football club competing in the North West Sydney Football league that’s doing remarkable work in shaping young athletes and, more importantly, young people.
More Than a Game
For our Managing Director, John, this partnership holds deep personal significance. Through a close friend whose son has played for The Spirit FC over the years, John has witnessed firsthand the transformative impact this club has on young players. He’s seen how the right environment, strong mentorship, and a commitment to developing the whole person can shape not just better footballers, but better humans.
The Spirit FC operates under the NWSF DNA framework: high quality people and players develop as a result of their environment and their experiences playing the game. It’s a philosophy that resonates deeply with how we approach our work at PMG.
Shared Values, Shared Vision
John has always been a strong believer in supporting and promoting people within our business. He understands that talent needs nurturing, that potential needs investment, and that creating opportunities for growth benefits everyone. Whether it’s a young designer finding their creative voice or a teenager learning what it means to be part of a team, the fundamentals remain the same: provide the right environment, invest in development, and trust in people’s potential.
When John learned about the work The Spirit FC was doing in the community, supporting this club wasn’t just an opportunity for corporate sponsorship. It was a chance to extend these same values beyond our office walls.
Our sponsorship provides resource funding that will enable The Spirit FC to upgrade equipment, improve their facilities, and enhance their youth athlete development programmes. These are investments in creating better training environments and ensuring the club can continue delivering high quality coaching and mentorship.
The Impact That Matters
Community sporting clubs like The Spirit FC are where young people learn about commitment, discover resilience, and understand what it means to work towards something bigger than themselves. The coaches and volunteers aren’t just teaching football skills—they’re teaching life skills. They’re showing young people what good leadership looks like and how to handle both success and setbacks with grace.
These lessons translate into classrooms, workplaces, families, and communities. The teenager who learns to encourage a struggling teammate becomes the colleague who lifts others up. The young player who develops discipline becomes the professional who delivers excellence.
For John, supporting The Spirit FC isn’t about business outcomes or brand visibility. It’s about backing an organisation that shares our values and does genuinely important work. It’s about recognising that investing in young people strengthens the entire community.
As we watch The Spirit FC continue their important work, we’re reminded why we do what we do at PMG. Whether we’re designing a collaborative workplace or supporting a local football club, the core principle remains the same: create the right environment, invest in people’s potential, and watch them flourish.
Here’s to the next generation of leaders, both on and off the pitch.
