At PMG, we spend our days creating workplaces that help people do their best work. But every conversation about performance, culture, and environment starts from the same foundation: people need a safe place to call home.
That is why PMG has committed to a national sponsorship of the Property Industry Foundation, backing their mission to end youth homelessness across Australia.
The Property Industry Foundation has been working alongside the property and construction industry for 30 years to increase the supply of accommodation for young Australians experiencing homelessness. Their model is straightforward and effective: they raise funds from the industry, build homes, and hand them to established youth homelessness charities to operate. To date, they have delivered 278 bedrooms for homeless youth, with another 54 in the pipeline. Their vision is clear: a safe home for every young Australian.
Why this partnership matters
Youth homelessness is not an issue the built environment industry can observe from a distance. We have the capability, the networks, and the platform to contribute in a practical, lasting way. This is the kind of responsibility that comes with operating at the scale our industry does.
Their model works because it draws on the collective weight of an industry that knows how to build. The more of that industry that commits, the greater the impact.
Activating the partnership
Sponsorship without participation is a logo. PMG’s commitment to the Property Industry Foundation is about showing up, bringing others along, and staying engaged beyond the announcement.
To mark the start of the partnership, we hosted the PMG Cup: a networking afternoon on the rooftop tennis court of our new Melbourne office. The event celebrated two things at once: the opening of PMG’s first Melbourne presence, and the beginning of our work with the Property Industry Foundation.
PMG is now a national practice, operating across Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne. Our first act in Melbourne was to bring the industry together in support of a cause that has real need in that city. The Property Industry Foundation has delivered Haven Houses across Melbourne and Victoria, and the work continues.
The PMG Cup brought together 70+ industry leaders and raised $3,450 for the Foundation, with every dollar going directly to the Property Industry Foundation.
It was a strong start. More importantly, it was the first of many. We intend to keep finding ways to bring the industry together in support of the Property Industry Foundation’s work, and to move the conversation from awareness into action.
A call to our industry
If you are already supporting the Property Industry Foundation, you are part of what makes this model work. Thank you.
If you have been considering it, now is the time. This is not a cause where a single firm’s contribution changes everything. It is one where collective commitment does. The more of us that back their mission, the more bedrooms exist for young Australians who need them.
Places Made for Generations starts with having a place to begin.
